Association Mountain Gorillas in Rwanda powered by rw it-design |
Mountain Gorilla Education Center (MGEC) Since November 2008, the “Andy Lee Lang Education Program” offers interested women and men in the area of the National Park not only English classes, but also courses on environment protection, wildlife conservation, hygiene, and medical problems including HIV/AIDS. Modern equipment such as computers, Internet, and video projection should arouse interest and inspire people to experience something new.
If the people of Rwanda do not understand about wildlife conservation, environment protection, and ultimately animal protection, they will destroy and deforest the habitat of the mountain gorillas – no matter that someone in this world wants to financially support the mountain gorillas!

Since September 1st, 2007, the children, previously staying at the Rwaza Orphanage and already supported by the Endangered Association, are living at the Mountain Gorilla Education Center.
Only when the Rwandan population, forced to share a habitat with the mountain gorillas, learns of the significance of their unique nature and of the mountain gorillas, will they be able to appreciate and protect their environment.
